No Cost Employment Services for Youth (14-21)
Jobworx works together with students, families, schools and community organizations
to promote successful transitions from school to work and into adult life.
Pre-employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) can help you learn how to effectively communicate your strengths, abilities and interests, practice social skills, explore training and career options, learn job related skills, and acquire a network of community supports. Classes are fun and interactive and delivered virtually.
Workforce Innovation and Opportunities Act (WIOA), every student (ages 14-21) with a disability has the opportunity to participate in Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS).
In these classes the participants will learn to apply skills essential to succeeding in educational settings and in the workplace.
These transferable skills include, but are not limited to:
Career planning and employability skills;
Job search assistance including the submission of job applications;
Setting goals and exploring careers;
Self Advocacy;
Post Secondary Counseling;
Resume writing;
Interviewing techniques;
Brainstorming;
Employment seeking skills;
Establishing priorities;
Decision making;
Developing time-management strategies;
Reviewing of employee salaries and benefits;
Understanding conflict resolution in the workplace;
Working on a team and/or with a culturally diverse workforce;
Utilizing and navigating public transportation;
Learning to access community resources.
